Revolutionary Turn.aido 2000 alternating air replacement mattress is designed to significantly help carers provide optimum comfort and care for highly dependent patients.
It includes an inbuilt ergonomic rotational nurse aid cover that has been shown to both reduce the number of carers required to perform patient repositioning and to enable such repositioning to be completed in an easier, quicker and gentler way.
CLINICAL EFFECTIVESS BEYOND 40 DEGREES AND SUPERIOR
PATIENT COMFORT AND CARE
Turn.aido 2000 can be inclined to 60 degrees with minimal or no cell compression. Such an incline is made possible with Turn.aido 2000’s technologically advanced design, which combines a unique hinging mechanism, and circular cells that cannot topple, that work together to prevent air cells from falling like dominoes and squashing when the mattress is profiled beyond 40 degrees.
Key features at a glance
- It is designed with a unique rotational nurse aid cover that can significantly help nurses to provide optimum comfort and care for highly dependent patients.
- Turn.aido’s ergonomic rotational nurse aid cover is built-in, it is always ready for use, so regular daily and nightly nursing procedures of turning patients, bed bathing, toileting or changing wound dressings, can be conducted in a quicker way, and with the utmost ease dignity and gentleness using less staff.
- Is designed to harmonize with the new generation of profiling beds recommended by N.C.S.C. standard (24.3).
- By its unique design, it helps prevent cells from compressing when the systems are profiled beyond 40 degrees. And as a result patients slide less towards the end of bed, which in turn can cause patient’s discomfort from compression of the diaphragm, and shearing forces.
Patient benefits
- Can enable staff to perform smoother and gentler patient repositioning that can result in less patient disturbance, and as such can be of particular value for manoeuvring patients that are resting or asleep.
- Can help preserve a patient’s dignity, when toileting, bed bathing or changing wound dressings, as these routines, can be completed in a quicker way and with less staff.
- Offers a minimal touch ergonomic manual handling nurse aid, particularly suited to repositioning patients, with fractures, bone cancer, or those that feel pain to the touch.
- Can offer less distress for immobile/obese patients when manoeuvred, as they can be repositioned with more ease and gentleness.
- It allows the body to breath: A two-way stretch waterproof and vapour-permeable fabric is used.
Carer benefits
- Can save up to half the time it takes to turn patients.
- Can reduce the number of nurses/carers required for repositioning and hygiene routines.
- Is always ready for use, time is no longer spent hunting for moving and handling equipment before manoeuvring.
- Can make it easier to comply with the minimal lifting policy.
- Can help prevent costly nursing back strain, and the subsequent shortage of staff or hiring of agency covers that this may entail or can help to improve staff morale and staff turnover by offering a nurse aid that can enable nursing routines to be conducted in an easier quicker and less strenuous way.
